Jazz Snap Losing Streak with Thrilling Victory Over Pistons

SALT LAKE CITY – Keyonte George delivered a clutch performance, scoring 31 points and sinking a go-ahead floater with 2.1 seconds left on the clock, as the Utah Jazz edged out the Detroit Pistons 131-129 on Friday night. The victory snapped a four-game losing streak for the Jazz in front of a roaring home crowd.

The game was a back-and-forth affair, with both teams trading leads throughout. Lauri Markkanen contributed a stellar 30 points for the Jazz, while Brice Sensabaugh chipped in with 20 points, matching his season high. Kevin Love added 11 points to the Jazz’s cause.

Detroit’s Cade Cunningham was a force to be reckoned with, racking up 29 points and a personal-best 17 assists. He tied the game with free throws late in the fourth quarter but his contested shot at the buzzer failed to convert.

Despite shooting an impressive 52.2% from the field and hitting 18 three-pointers, the Pistons were unable to contain George and Markkanen down the stretch. The Jazz’s improved defense in the final minutes, including a crucial steal and dunk by George, proved to be the difference.

The Jazz, who have struggled defensively recently, managed to tighten things up when it mattered most, securing a much-needed win.

Looking Ahead:

  • Detroit Pistons: Travel to Los Angeles to face the Clippers on Sunday.
  • Utah Jazz: Hit the road to take on the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday.
