Ghaziabad, India – Police in Ghaziabad have uncovered a shocking case of patricide, alleging that the sons of Yogesh, a 58-year-old retired Indian Air Force (IAF) employee, orchestrated his murder over a property dispute. Yogesh was shot dead on December 26th while returning home in the Loni area of Ashok Vihar Colony.
According to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Siddhartha Gautam, the investigation revealed that Yogesh’s sons, motivated by greed, hired contract killers to eliminate their father, who was attempting to evict them from his house.
The sons allegedly recruited a neighbor, identified as Arvind, 32, to carry out the hit. Arvind, along with his brother-in-law, Naveen, a constable currently serving in Kaushambi district, allegedly ambushed Yogesh on his way home.
During interrogation, Arvind confessed to police that he and Naveen fired two shots at Yogesh, leading to his death. Arvind was arrested on Wednesday and has been remanded to 14 days of judicial custody by a Ghaziabad court. A .315 bore country-made pistol along with live and spent cartridges were recovered from his possession.
Police are currently searching for Naveen, the constable, and the two sons of the victim, who are all currently at large. The investigation into the motive and further details of the conspiracy is ongoing.
