VIJAYAWADA, January 2, 2026 – The Andhra Pradesh government has given the green light for the acquisition of 418.14 acres of land in Damavaram village, Nellore district, for the construction of the proposed Dagadarthi greenfield airport. The land will be acquired by the A.P. Airports Development Corporation Limited (APADCL) on a perpetual lease basis.
Landowners will receive compensation of ₹13 lakh per acre, a rate approved by the government based on recommendations from the Negotiation Committee, led by Special Chief Secretary (Infrastructure & Investment – Airports) M.T. Krishna Babu.
