Tue Dec 30 21:40:00 UTC 2025: Headline: ‘South Park’ Writer Snags Trump-Kennedy Center Domain Names for Satirical Use

Washington D.C. – Comedian and writer Toby Morton, known for his work on “South Park” and “Mad TV,” has purchased the domain names “trumpkennedycenter.org” and “trumpkennedycenter.com,” potentially thwarting any attempt to rebrand the John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts following President Trump’s controversial involvement with the institution.

Morton told The Washington Post that he acquired the domains after witnessing Trump’s actions regarding the Kennedy Center board, including replacing all 18 board members with loyalists. He stated that he often buys political domain names and uses them to create satirical websites as a form of activism.

The Kennedy Center has been a subject of controversy recently, with reports that the building’s lettering was changed to incorporate President Trump’s name. This action has drawn criticism and legal challenges, including a lawsuit filed by U.S. Rep. Joyce Beatty (D-Ohio) seeking the removal of Trump’s name from the center. Beatty claims she was muted during a virtual board meeting and prevented from casting a dissenting vote.

Morton intends to use the domain names to highlight the absurdity of the situation, stating that the websites will “absolutely reflect the absurdity of the moment” and contain “lots of surprises.” He has reportedly received inquiries from lawyers claiming satire is illegal, but no contact from the Trump Administration.

Morton told the Post: “The Kennedy Center has always been a cultural institution meant to outlast any one administration or personality. It’s meant to honor culture, not ego. Once it was treated like personal branding, satire became unavoidable.”
