Tirunelveli, India – December 31, 2025 (The Hindu) – A major police reshuffle has been announced by the Tamil Nadu government, affecting key positions across the Tirunelveli range. The changes, effective immediately, see new leadership appointed at the range, city, and district levels.

P. Saravanan, former SP of Villupuram district, takes over as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police for the Tirunelveli range. N. Manivannan, previously Commandant of the Tamil Nadu Special Police II Battalion, Avadi, has been promoted to DIG and will now serve as the Commissioner of Police for Tirunelveli city.

C. Madhan, promoted from ASP of Thoothukudi town sub division to SP, will become the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of Tirunelveli city west. V. Prasanna Kumar, the outgoing DCP of Tirunelveli city west, has been appointed as SP of Tirunelveli district.
