Marrakesh, Morocco – South Africa secured their place in the Africa Cup of Nations Round of 16 with a dramatic 3-2 victory over Zimbabwe in Marrakesh on Monday. Oswin Appollis converted a late penalty to seal the win, dumping their southern African rivals out of the tournament. The thrilling match saw South Africa lead three times, with goals from Tshepang Moremi, Lyle Foster, and ultimately Appollis. Zimbabwe fought back valiantly, with a stunning solo effort from Tawanda Maswanhise and an Aubrey Modiba own goal keeping them in contention.
