KASARAGOD, KERALA – December 30, 2025 – Chaos erupted at the Pallikara Beach Festival in Kasaragod district on Monday night when an unexpectedly large crowd surged during a concert by rapper Vedan. Six individuals were hospitalized due to breathing difficulties as a result of the crush, according to police reports. The concert was abruptly halted after approximately an hour due to the tense situation.

“The crowd swelled beyond expectations late in the night, overwhelming our security arrangements,” stated the District Police Chief. The six individuals were treated at private hospitals in Pallikara and Uduma and have since been discharged.

In a separate incident near the festival grounds, Sivananda, 20, of Poinachi, was found dead after being struck by a train along the railway track adjacent to the beach. Police have registered a case and preliminary findings suggest the death was accidental. An investigation is underway.

Amidst the chaos, several children were reported missing, adding to the stress of the situation. Fortunately, all missing children were later located by police and reunited with their families.
