Palaniswami, General Secretary of the AIADMK and Leader of Opposition, has launched a scathing attack on the ruling DMK government, accusing them of severely undermining the education sector in Tamil Nadu. Speaking at a gathering in Tiruvallur district on Monday, Palaniswami claimed that the DMK regime has closed down 210 government schools in the last four and a half years.

Palaniswami contrasted this with the AIADMK’s track record during its previous administration, stating that they had opened 248 primary schools and upgraded hundreds more to higher levels. He also alleged significant vacancies in higher education, with 96 arts and science colleges lacking principals. Furthermore, he accused the DMK government of restricting hiring in minority educational institutions and government-aided colleges.
