Ali Larter Reveals “Landman” Set Was “High-Pressure,” Leading to Close Bond with Co-Star Michelle Randolph
Los Angeles, CA – Ali Larter, who plays Angela Norris in Paramount+’s hit neo-Western drama “Landman,” recently revealed the intense environment behind the scenes of the show. Speaking with People, Larter described a “high-pressure, high-octane” set where encouragement was scarce, leading to a strong bond with her on-screen daughter, Michelle Randolph, who plays Ainsley Norris.
“We spent a lot of time together, the first season, when there wasn’t handholding,” Larter said. “You kind of were thrown into the fire… It was really amazing that we had each other to lean on.”
Set in the world of West Texas oilfields, “Landman” stars Billy Bob Thornton as Tommy Norris, a hardened landman and Larter’s ex-husband. Larter praised series creator Taylor Sheridan’s “masterful” casting, noting the chemistry between the actors. She also lauded Randolph as “an amazing person” and a “talented actress.”
Larter also had high praise for Thornton, calling him “one of the best actors working in our business” and stating that he “brings out the best” in her.
“It’s incredible how Taylor made oil fascinating, and the landscape,” Larter continued. “You would never know that — this is why he’s such a genius — you would never know on paper that this show would be so riveting or so many people would love it.”
“Landman,” which premiered in November 2024 and recently concluded its second season, has been renewed for a third season on Paramount+. Catch new episodes Sundays on Paramount+.
