Kadapa Police Report Success in Crime Reduction and Citizen Engagement in 2025

Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh – December 30, 2025 – The Kadapa district police force is celebrating a successful year marked by significant reductions in major crime categories and improved citizen engagement. Superintendent of Police (SP) Nachiket Vishwanath Shelke highlighted the district’s achievements during a year-end media conference held earlier today.

Kadapa police excelled in resolving long pending cases and ranked first in the State in disposal of cases at the National Mega Lok Adalat, twice during the year. A total of 57,632 cases were settled via Lok Adalats. Furthermore, the department successfully resolved 9,300 out of 9,704 complaints received through the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS).

SP Shelke noted that murder cases decreased by 9%, factional violence was nearly eliminated, riots fell by 33%, and white-collar crime dropped by 16%. Attempts to murder and crimes under the SC/ST Atrocities Act saw a 9% reduction each, while kidnapping of women decreased by 33%. Dowry deaths experienced a significant decline of 67%.

Cybercrime posed the biggest challenge, with 57 cases reported. While 33 cases were solved, and 62 offenders were arrested, only a small fraction (₹21.52 lakh) of the total ₹16.47 crore lost by victims was recovered. Law enforcement officials managed to trace 4,693 transactions, freezing ₹3.05 crore across 135 bank accounts.

In a separate operation, the Yerraguntla police apprehended a bag-lifting gang responsible for 23 cases across the state. The police recovered ₹75 lakh worth of stolen property, including gold, silver, cash, and a car.
