Tue Dec 30 01:40:00 UTC 2025: Nashville Predators Seek Road Win Against Utah Mammoth in Crucial Matchup

Salt Lake City, UT – The Nashville Predators continue their six-game road trip tonight against the Utah Mammoth at the Delta Center at 8 p.m. CT, marking their penultimate game of the 2025 calendar year. The Predators are looking to bounce back after a 3-2 loss to the St. Louis Blues ended their three-game winning streak on Saturday. This game is the second of four meetings this season between the Predators and the Mammoth, with Utah having won the previous encounter in Nashville earlier this year.

“We know this is a huge road trip,” said Preds forward Tyson Jost after Saturday’s loss. “A lot of teams that we’re playing, we’re fighting for playoff spots with.” He emphasized the “playoff mentality” needed for these crucial games as the team vies for a playoff position.

The Predators (16-17-4) are currently just three points behind the Mammoth (18-18-2) in the Central Division standings. Ryan O’Reilly leads the team in points with 32, while Juuse Saros holds a 14-12-3 record in goal. Justin Barron was activated from injured reserve but was a healthy scratch in the last game, while Jonathan Marchessault remains day-to-day with a lower-body injury.

The Utah Mammoth, who haven’t played since a 1-0 loss to Colorado on December 23rd, are led offensively by Nick Schmaltz and Clayton Keller, each with 32 points. Goaltender Karel Vejmelka boasts a 16-10-2 record.

Historically, the Predators hold a 2-1-1 record against Utah, including a victory in their only previous visit to Salt Lake City. In that game on April 10, 2025, Saros made a season-high 39 saves, securing the win with a shootout goal from Filip Forsberg.

The game will be broadcast on FanDuel Sports Network South with pregame coverage beginning at 7:30 p.m. CT. Fans can also tune into 102.5 The Game and the Predators Radio Network for radio coverage.
