Delhi Airport Hit by Flight Disruptions as Dense Fog Rolls In
New Delhi – December 30, 2025 – Dense fog blanketed Delhi today, causing significant disruptions at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport. As of 10:35 am IST, at least 118 flights have been cancelled, 16 diverted, and 130 delayed, affecting thousands of passengers.
Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL) initially stated that operations were normal for CAT III compliant flights, however, many services have been severely impacted. Flightradar24.com data indicates the average departure delay was approximately 28 minutes.
The Civil Aviation Ministry has instructed airlines to adhere strictly to passenger facilitation norms, including providing timely updates, meals for delayed passengers, and facilitating rebooking or refunds for cancellations.
The Airport Authority of India has issued an advisory warning of potential delays at other Northern Indian airports due to the prevailing fog. Passengers are advised to check with their airlines for the latest updates and allow extra time for airport procedures.
