Bengaluru, December 30, 2025 – A tragic gas cylinder explosion at the Seven Hills Sai Co-Living PG in Kundalahalli, Bengaluru, on Monday evening has resulted in the death of a 23-year-old man and injuries to three others.
The deceased has been identified as Aravind, a 23-year-old business analyst. The injured, Venkatesh (28), a PG employee, C.V. Goel (23), and Vishal Verma (23), were rushed to a local hospital. Police have confirmed that Venkatesh is in critical condition.
According to preliminary investigations, the incident occurred around 6:15 PM when Aravind noticed smoke emanating from the kitchen area of the co-living facility, which houses approximately 55 residents in 43 rooms. As he went to investigate, a commercial gas cylinder reportedly exploded due to a suspected gas leak.
“Aravind died on the spot,” stated a police spokesperson. “Fire tenders arrived swiftly and brought the fire under control.”
HAL police have registered a case and have launched a full investigation to determine the exact cause of the explosion.
