Mon Dec 29 02:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Zoe Saldaña Embarks on Quest to Decode Gen Alpha Slang, Teams Up with Druski for T-Mobile Ad
HOLLYWOOD, CA – Oscar-winning actress Zoe Saldaña is diving headfirst into the perplexing world of Gen Alpha slang, admitting she’s determined to crack the code of terms like “6-7,” a viral phrase that’s captured the internet’s attention.
Speaking with PEOPLE, Saldaña, 47, revealed her fascination with the nonsensical phrase, which gained traction on TikTok and was even crowned Dictionary.com’s word of the year in October 2025. “This whole 6-7 thing has been, oh God, an absolute anomaly,” Saldaña said. “I am just so hyper-focused on this Gen Alpha lingo, and I’m gonna get it.”
The phrase’s origins can be traced back to the song “Doot Doot (6 7)” by Skrilla, featuring the repetitive lyric. While lacking a definitive meaning, it’s often associated with NBA player LaMelo Ball, who stands at 6 feet, 7 inches.
Saldaña, a Gen X mom of three Gen Alpha children, is also grappling with the concept of “aura,” defining it as someone’s “it factor” or effortless coolness.
To further her understanding of internet culture and tap into her comedic side, Saldaña is collaborating with internet personality Druski in a new T-Mobile advertisement. The ad, also featuring actor Harvey Guillén, promotes T-Mobile’s new 15-minute switch experience.
Saldaña credits Druski with helping her master improvisation for the humorous spot. “Sometimes, if I just lean heavily and solely on the lines, then I leave very little space for improvisation or catching anything that may occur that is not even planned,” she explained. “It’s those moments that are absolutely special, and Druski does it so beautifully.”
The T-Mobile ad featuring Saldaña and Druski is set to premiere on January 3rd.
