Mon Dec 29 00:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Elway Snubs Bradshaw in QB Comparison, Steelers Legend Likely Wouldn’t Mind
PITTSBURGH, PA – Hall of Fame quarterback John Elway ignited a debate this week after seemingly dismissing the legacy of Pittsburgh Steelers legend Terry Bradshaw during an interview promoting his new Netflix documentary. While Elway lauded other quarterback greats, he offered no praise for Bradshaw, simply stating, “Terry Bradshaw’s way down on my list.”
The comment, delivered during a comparison of quarterbacks, has sparked discussion among fans and analysts, especially within Steeler Nation. Bradshaw, quarterback of the dominant Steelers dynasty of the 1970s, led the team to an unprecedented four Super Bowl victories in a six-year span. While his individual statistics may not rival modern quarterbacks, his undeniable success in the Super Bowl era, including two Super Bowl MVP awards, secured his place in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Critics of Bradshaw often argue he benefited from a dominant defense and a strong running game, an argument Elway himself might be susceptible to. Elway’s own Super Bowl victories with the Denver Broncos came with the help of a similarly stout defense and effective run game.
The perceived slight from Elway has drawn mixed reactions. Some Steelers fans are outraged, defending Bradshaw’s legacy and Super Bowl record. Others, however, believe Bradshaw himself would likely agree with Elway’s assessment. Bradshaw has publicly acknowledged the different landscape of the modern NFL and has even downplayed his individual contributions to the Steelers dynasty.
“Knowing Bradshaw, if he heard Elway’s comment, he would likely agree with him,” commented Chris Brown, a writer for Steeler Nation. “The only thing that he has over all these other quarterbacks except Montana is that he was undefeated while going to multiple Super Bowls. That’s the only thing that he may say to disagree with Elway, but outside of that, he would probably be the first one to come out and say something like ‘Yeah, that’s fair’ from Elway’s assessment.”
Despite the controversy, Bradshaw’s place in NFL history remains secure. His four Super Bowl victories and Hall of Fame status are undeniable achievements, solidifying his role in transforming the Steelers from league laughingstock to a team synonymous with success.
