Bengaluru Police Bust Drug Trafficking Ring, Seize ₹2.5 Crore in Narcotics Ahead of New Year

Bengaluru, December 29, 2025 – In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the Central Crime Branch (CCB) Narcotics Control Wing of Bengaluru police has arrested two individuals and seized narcotics worth ₹2.5 crore in separate operations across the city. The arrests, which come just days before New Year’s Eve, aim to disrupt the supply of illegal substances during the celebrations.

In the first operation, police apprehended Christopher, a 45-year-old Nigerian national, within the Soladevanahalli Police Station limits. Authorities seized 1 kg and 70 gm of MDMA crystals, 60 ecstasy pills, ₹2 lakh in cash, a mobile phone, and a laptop, with an estimated total value of ₹2.25 crore. According to police reports, Christopher, who arrived in India on a business visa last year, allegedly sourced MDMA from foreign nationals based in Delhi and Mumbai with the intention of selling during New Years celebrations. A prior drug-related case under the NDPS Act had already been registered against him at the Soladevanahalli Police Station, and he was previously held in judicial custody.

In a separate operation conducted in the Bandepalya Police Station limits, Naveen Raj, a 26-year-old delivery executive hailing from Tamil Nadu, was arrested. Authorities seized 100 LSD strips, 5 gm of cocaine, and a mobile phone, amounting to a value of ₹25 lakh. Police say Raj used his position as a delivery worker to traffic drugs across state lines. He allegedly sourced LSD strips and cocaine at low prices before selling them at much higher prices to his contacts.
