TCL Lights Up Milan for Olympics with Festive Christmas Tree and “Wishes for Greatness” Campaign

Milan, Italy – The city of Milan is aglow with the spirit of the upcoming Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, thanks to a partnership with Worldwide Olympic Partner TCL. The annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony in Piazza del Duomo was transformed into a month-long celebration, featuring a towering 29-meter tree and a TCL-sponsored winter wonderland, all centered around the theme of “Wishes for Greatness.”

TCL’s installation includes five igloos, each representing a continent and showcasing TCL’s latest technology. Visitors can experience simulated figure skating performances with TCL’s QD-Mini LED TVs, sound systems, and even augmented reality glasses. The company aims to inspire big dreams and connect with the local community through this immersive experience.

“We believe that sport is a great platform to talk about inspiring greatness, and athletes often have a moment of inspiration – an event or experience – something that made them train hard enough to become world-class,” said Stefan Streit, Chief Marketing Officer of TCL Europe.

To amplify its message, TCL has established “Team TCL,” comprising winter athletes like freestyle skier Eileen Gu, Dutch speed skater Joy Beune, and Italian alpine skier Alex Vinatzer, whose stories embody the Olympic spirit. TCL’s technology will also play a crucial role in the Games themselves, providing TVs, monitors, and technical assistance to the Olympic Broadcasting Services, as well as equipping the athletes’ village with entertainment and relaxation areas.

Beyond the festivities, TCL is committed to sustainability, ensuring the tree’s materials are repurposed and donated to local initiatives. This collaboration marks a significant step for TCL in its Olympic journey, with plans for further installations and campaigns leading up to Milano Cortina 2026. The hope is to build stronger connections with consumers, showcase TCL’s vision and values, and demonstrate how its technology can enhance the Olympic experience both in Milan and at home.
