TCS Aims to Dominate India’s AI Boom with Aggressive New Strategy
Mumbai, India – December 24, 2025 – As India emerges as a global hub for Artificial Intelligence (AI) development, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has announced a bold new strategy to become the “largest AI-led tech services organization.” The announcement, made during its first Analyst Day in a decade, underscores TCS’s commitment to capitalizing on the growing AI wave sweeping the nation.
The company revealed its AI services revenue had surged by 16.3% to $1.5 billion, while next-generation services revenue reached $11 billion, according to a CLSA report. This growth comes as tech giants like Google and Reliance Industries are making massive investments in India’s AI infrastructure.
TCS aims to leverage significant investments in AI infrastructure to fuel its growth. These include Google’s $15 billion plan for an AI data center campus in Vizag, Andhra Pradesh, projected to create approximately 100,000 jobs during its construction phase. Reliance Industries is investing $11 billion in partnership to develop 1 GW of AI data capacity, along with $8.3 billion being pumped into cloud infrastructure in Maharashtra by Amazon Web Services (AWS).
TCS itself had previously announced its own plans to invest $6.5 billion over the next 5-7 years to build 1 GW of data-center capacity. Additionally, OpenAI is planning to establish a 1 GW data center in India as well.
The investments are driven by the recognition of India’s growing importance in the global data landscape. While the country generates 20% of the world’s data, it currently hosts only 3% of global data center capacity, highlighting the immense growth potential.
TCS’s aggressive strategy positions it to be a key player in India’s burgeoning AI ecosystem, competing alongside major international corporations and leveraging India’s unique position in the global data economy.
