India Women Dominate Sri Lanka in 4th T20, Eye Series Sweep
New Delhi, India – The Indian Women’s Cricket team continued their dominant performance against Sri Lanka, securing a massive victory in the fourth T20 international match today. Having already clinched the series, India is now focused on completing a clean sweep.
Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bowl, but their decision backfired as India posted a formidable total of 221/3 in their 20 overs. Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma set the stage with a blistering opening partnership of 149 runs. Verma smashed 79 off 46 balls, including 12 fours and a six, while Mandhana followed closely with 80 off 48 deliveries, hitting 11 boundaries and three sixes.
The fireworks didn’t stop there. Richa Ghosh provided a stunning finish, blasting an unbeaten 40 off just 16 balls, featuring four fours and three sixes. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur remained not out on 16 off 10 balls, adding valuable runs to the total.
Earlier in the innings, Smriti Mandhana achieved a significant milestone, becoming only the fourth woman globally and the second Indian woman to score 10,000 runs in international cricket.
While the Indian team is riding high on confidence, the Sri Lankan team will be fighting to avoid a series whitewash and salvage some pride in the remaining matches.
