Sun Dec 28 14:50:00 UTC 2025: ## India Women Dominate Sri Lanka in 4th T20, Aim for Series Sweep

New Delhi: The Indian Women’s Cricket team continued their dominant performance against Sri Lanka, securing a massive win in the fourth T20 international. Having already clinched the series, India is now eyeing a clean sweep, while Sri Lanka seeks to salvage pride in the remaining matches.

Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bowl, a decision they may soon regret. India put on a blazing batting display, posting a formidable total of 221/3 in their 20 overs. The innings was anchored by explosive knocks from Smriti Mandhana (80 off 48 balls) and Shafali Verma (79 off 46 balls). The duo put on a 149-run opening stand that set the tone for the innings. Richa Ghosh then provided the late fireworks, smashing an unbeaten 40 off just 16 balls, supported by captain Harmanpreet Kaur (16* off 10 balls).

Earlier in the innings, Smriti Mandhana reached a significant milestone, becoming the fourth woman and second Indian batter to score 10,000 runs in international cricket.

In response, Sri Lanka struggled to keep pace with the required run rate, losing wickets at regular intervals. Captain Chamari Athapaththu scored a valiant 52 off 37 balls, but received little support from the other batters. Hasini Perera scored 33 and Imesha Dulani added 29 before being run out. Eventually, Sri Lanka reached 140 for 3 in 15 overs, before news could be updated again.

India made two changes to their lineup, with Harleen Deol replacing the unwell Jemimah Rodrigues and Arundhati Reddy coming in for Kranti Gaud.

With this commanding performance, the Indian Women’s Cricket team has firmly established their dominance in the series and will look to carry this momentum into the remaining match.
