Sun Dec 28 12:20:00 UTC 2025: ## Leao Ruled Out as AC Milan Prepare to Face Verona

Milan, Italy – AC Milan will be without star winger Rafael Leao when they take on Hellas Verona this Sunday, confirmed manager Massimiliano Allegri. Leao sustained a knock during Milan’s victory over Torino on December 8th and has since missed the subsequent draw against Sassuolo and the Supercoppa Italiana semi-final loss to Napoli.

Allegri explained that Leao is suffering from “discomfort” preventing him from sprinting at full speed, leading to the decision to rest him. “Part-time players are not helpful,” Allegri stated, expressing confidence in his other attacking options.

While Verona are a favored opponent of Leao, having conceded at least three goals and three assists to him in Serie A, Milan’s win percentage without him remains relatively strong.

Adding to Milan’s challenges, new signing Niclas Fullkrug will also be unavailable until the January transfer window officially opens. Allegri noted that Fullkrug is still working on his conditioning and will need time to integrate into the team.

Pulisic to Lead the Attack?

With Leao sidelined, the spotlight shifts to Christian Pulisic. The American international has been in good form, scoring three goals in his last five appearances. He will be key to Milan securing a victory.

Verona Rely on Orban

For Verona, Gift Orban will be crucial. His five goal involvements have earned Verona a significant portion of their points this season.

Milan Aim to Extend Winning Streak

Milan have dominated Verona in recent history, winning their last nine Serie A encounters. Furthermore, they’ve won their last four home matches against Verona. Statistically, Opta predicts a 66% chance of an AC Milan victory, while Verona’s chances are slim at just 14.9%. Despite Verona’s recent wins against Atalanta and Fiorentina, history is not on their side as they seek their first victory at the San Siro against either Milan or Inter.
