Local Filmmaker to Premiere Psychological Thriller “I’ll Find You” in Williamsburg
WILLIAMSBURG, VA – Williamsburg resident and filmmaker Keesya Hill-Jones is set to debut her first feature film, “I’ll Find You,” at Regal New Town on Saturday, September 27th. The psychological thriller, filmed entirely in Williamsburg, explores themes of mental health, resilience, and the far-reaching consequences of life-altering decisions.
Hill-Jones, who wrote and produced the film, stated that the story was inspired by observations made during the pandemic. “Mental illness, homelessness, addiction, abuse. These are major issues people are faced with, and I felt this movie touched on all four in different ways. I just thought people could really relate to it,” she said.
“I’ll Find You” follows Eric Timberlake, a promising NBA player whose life takes a dramatic turn after a career-ending injury. The film delves into his struggles and choices, highlighting their impact on those around him. Hill-Jones emphasizes the film’s message that “in a split second, your whole life can change. I wanted to show how one person’s bad choices can trickle down and impact so many others.”
The film’s title reflects the dual narratives woven into the story. With the support of Williamsburg, the guidance of director Alan Delake, and the dedication of her cast, Hill-Jones was able to quickly bring her vision to life. She praised her actors for their commitment, noting that one actor immersed himself in the experience of homelessness to authentically portray his character.
Hill-Jones, also a local business owner providing care for the elderly, views her filmmaking as another way to serve her community. She intends the premiere to be a special experience for Williamsburg residents and aspires to further establish Virginia as a prominent location for film production.
“As an African American woman, I feel proud to represent this new generation,” Hill-Jones shared. “But I want to write content that can be viewed and related to by many different cultures and races. This film is one anyone can connect with.”
Following the Williamsburg premiere, “I’ll Find You” will be showcased in Washington, D.C. on October 11th and at the Peachtree Village International Film Festival in Atlanta on October 18th.
