Sat Dec 27 16:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Mega Millions Jackpot Rolls Over; California Ticket Wins $2 Million
Detroit, MI – The Mega Millions jackpot went unclaimed in Tuesday night’s drawing, meaning hopefuls will have another chance to strike it rich this Friday, December 26th. The winning numbers for the Tuesday, December 23rd drawing were 15, 37, 38, 41, and 64, with a Mega Ball of 21. The estimated jackpot was $100 million, with a cash option of $45.5 million.
While no one hit the jackpot, a lucky ticket sold in California matched all five white balls and, thanks to the built-in multiplier, is worth a cool $2 million.
Players looking to try their luck have until 10:45 p.m. on Friday to purchase tickets in-store or online in Michigan. A Mega Millions ticket costs $5. To play, participants select five numbers from 1 to 70 and one Mega Ball number from 1 to 24, or opt for the Easy Pick/Quick Pick option.
Mega Millions has a built-in multiplier that can increase non-jackpot prizes by 2, 3, 4, 5, or even 10 times. This multiplier is automatically included and randomly assigned at the time of purchase.
The odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot are a daunting 1 in 290,472,336. Drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. and can be viewed on YouTube. Winning numbers are also posted on the Mega Millions website and the Michigan Lottery website.
Jackpot winners have the choice between an annuity, paid out as one immediate payment followed by 29 annual payments (each 5% larger than the previous), or a one-time cash payment equivalent to the total cash in the jackpot prize pool.
