CHARLOTTE, N.C. – LaMelo Ball led the charge with 23 points and 9 assists as the Charlotte Hornets defeated the Washington Wizards 126-109 on Tuesday night. A dominant fourth quarter, where they outscored the Wizards 34-19, propelled Charlotte to victory.

Rookie Kon Knueppel provided a significant spark, hitting five second-half three-pointers and finishing with 19 points. Brandon Miller contributed 20 points, while Moussa Diabate dominated the boards with a career-high 18 rebounds to go along with 12 points. Miles Bridges nearly recorded a triple-double, ending the night with 10 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists.

After a tight first three quarters, the Hornets ignited a 12-4 run early in the fourth, fueled by Ball, to gain control. Miller’s three-pointer with five minutes remaining pushed the lead into double digits, and Knueppel’s subsequent three-point barrage sealed the win. The Hornets showcased their long-range prowess, connecting on 20 of 50 three-point attempts.

The Wizards, led by Khris Middleton’s 16 points, initially held a 10-point lead in the first half. However, Diabate’s strong rebounding performance helped the Hornets close the gap to 65-62 by halftime. The Wizards suffered a setback when Bub Carrington was helped off the court with a lower-leg injury in the fourth quarter.
