Fri Dec 26 10:35:04 UTC 2025: Akshaye Khanna Exits ‘Drishyam 3’ Over Salary Demands
Mumbai, India – Akshaye Khanna has reportedly exited the highly anticipated “Drishyam 3” just days after the film’s release date was announced. Sources indicate that the departure stems from a disagreement over Khanna’s remuneration.
Following the success of “Dhurandhar” and “Chhaava,” Khanna is said to have revised his fee, demanding Rs 21 crore for his role in the third installment of the “Drishyam” franchise. Makers of the film expressed concerns that meeting Khanna’s demands would push the film over budget.
Sources claim Khanna felt justified in his demand, believing his presence significantly increases the excitement for the film.
Another point of contention was Khanna’s request to wear a wig, a proposal the filmmakers reportedly weren’t comfortable with.
Despite the disagreement, sources state the parting was amicable, with both parties open to future collaborations. Khanna first joined the “Drishyam” franchise in 2022, playing IG Tarun Ahlawat. He will next be seen in “Mahakali.”
