SVYM’s “Walk Within” Padayatra to Promote Awareness in Dharwad Villages
HUBBALLI – The Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement (SVYM) has launched a “Walk Within” padayatra in Dharwad and nearby villages, starting today and running through December 31st, 2025. The initiative, spearheaded by SVYM founder R. Balasubrahmanyam, focuses on environmental consciousness, personal reflection, and bolstering community ties.
The padayatra was inaugurated this morning at the Dharwad Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (DIMANS) auditorium, with cancer surgery specialist Vijayalakshmi Deshmane participating as the guest of honor.
“The aim is to connect with the community at a grassroots level,” said Jayant K.S., North Karnataka Regional Head of SVYM, during a press conference yesterday. “Participants will engage in discussions on local challenges, achievements, and the overall well-being of the villagers.”
Approximately 50 participants, including experts, students, and members of the public, will walk 10 kilometers each day, stopping in villages like Daddikamalapur, Kalakeri, Devarahubballi, and Managundi.
