Karnataka Districts Ramp Up SSLC Prep, Aim for Top Marks in 2025
MANGALURU, December 26, 2025 – Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts are pulling out all the stops to ensure strong performance in the upcoming SSLC (Secondary School Leaving Certificate) examinations, officials announced this week. Building on a history of high pass rates, and bolstered by the state’s “Mission 45” initiative, local schools are implementing intensive programs to support students.
For nearly a decade, teachers in the two districts have been giving to slow learners subject-wise booklets containing most-likely questions that could be asked, and making slow learners to practice it by conducting special classes.
“Our goal is to see a significant increase in the number of students scoring above 80% in the upcoming exams,” stated Prakash G.T. Nittali, Chairperson of the Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB), during a recent workshop for teachers. The KSEAB’s “Mission 45” aims to ensure all students achieve a minimum pass rate of 45%.
Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Narwade Vinayak Karbhari noted that the administration has compiled taluk-wise lists of students who need additional support. Dakshina Kannada Deputy Director of Public Instruction G. Shashidhar says subject-wise booklets, containing questions that help students getting the necessary pass marks, have been provided to students in December first week.
Udupi DDPI C. Lokesh has encouraged teachers to continue their preparation schedule so all students may clear the SSLC exam in their first attempt.
To prepare students, three preparatory exams will be held between January 5th and February 28th. Marks from these exams will be tracked via the Student Achievement Tracking System, allowing educators to tailor their support.
The final SSLC examinations are scheduled to take place between March 18th and April 2nd.
