Mahindra Unveils XUV 7XO: A Premium SUV Upgrade Arriving in 2026

NEW DELHI – Mahindra is set to launch a significantly upgraded version of its popular XUV700 SUV, dubbed the XUV 7XO, on January 5, 2026. The refreshed model promises a more premium experience with enhanced styling, a tech-forward interior, and improved safety features.

The XUV 7XO retains the silhouette of its predecessor but features noticeable exterior changes, drawing design inspiration from Mahindra’s electric vehicle lineup. Key updates include revised LED lighting and new alloy wheel designs.

The interior receives a major overhaul, highlighted by a new triple-screen display that includes a dedicated screen for the passenger. Rear passengers will benefit from “Bring Your Own Display” (BYOD) support with mounting fixtures, as well as “Boss Mode,” allowing them to electronically adjust front seats for increased legroom.

Safety is also a priority, with the XUV 7XO expected to feature a 540-degree camera for all-around visibility and potentially a Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) package.

Under the hood, the XUV 7XO will continue to offer the existing 2.0-liter turbo-petrol and 2.2-liter diesel engine options from the XUV700, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Pre-bookings for the Mahindra XUV 7XO are now open for a token amount of ₹21,000. The SUV is expected to be priced between ₹15 lakh and ₹25 lakh (ex-showroom), placing it in the same competitive segment as the XUV700. This launch comes as Renault plans the Duster’s return, Maruti Suzuki preps for the e Vitara, and Tata’s Harrier and Safari petrol models become available.
