Man Arrested for Assaulting Railway Gatekeeper in Thikkodi

Kozhikode, December 26, 2025 – Police in Payyoli have arrested a man identified as Rajeesh, a resident of Thikkodi, in connection with the assault of a railway gatekeeper that occurred on December 24th. The incident stemmed from a dispute over parking near the railway tracks in Thikkodi.

According to police reports, the victim, Dhaneesh, a railway gatekeeper, sustained injuries after being attacked by Rajeesh and an accomplice when he asked them to move their motorcycle, which was allegedly obstructing the railway gate. Dhaneesh was admitted to a government hospital in Koyilandy following the assault.

Authorities stated that Rajeesh and his friend not only manhandled the gatekeeper but also threatened him in his office. Rajeesh has been charged under Section 132 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which pertains to assault or use of criminal force to deter a public servant from performing their duty.
