Andhra Pradesh Boosts Tribal Education with Scholarship Release

Vijayawada, December 25, 2025 – The Andhra Pradesh government is reaffirming its commitment to tribal education with the announcement of significant scholarship disbursements, benefiting tens of thousands of students across the state. Minister for Women and Child Development and Tribal Welfare, G. Sandhya Rani, revealed the news earlier today, emphasizing the government’s dedication to creating a stable and supportive educational environment for tribal youth.

“Our objective is to empower tribal students,” stated Minister Rani, “by improving infrastructure in schools and hostels, providing adequate medical facilities, and ensuring nutritious food. We want to instill confidence among tribal students and enable them to pursue their education without fear or uncertainty.”

The Minister highlighted the government’s prompt action in addressing pending scholarship dues left by the previous administration. For the 2023-24 academic year, the coalition government released ₹71.67 crore, benefiting 69,227 students, a substantial increase from the ₹18.67 crore released by the previous government.

Substantial funding continued into the 2024-25 academic year with ₹85.67 crore allocated for tuition fee reimbursement and ₹9.11 crore for maintenance charges, benefiting 42,203 students. So far, for the 2025-26 academic year, ₹100.93 crore has been disbursed, reaching 59,297 students.

The funds are being directly credited to the bank accounts of the students’ mothers for maintenance and to the college accounts for tuition fees, ensuring transparency and accountability.

“Through this structured approach, the government is ensuring continuity of education for tribal students,” Minister Rani asserted. “We remain committed to releasing scholarships in a timely manner in the future as well.”

The move is expected to have a significant positive impact on tribal communities, enabling more students to access quality education and pursue their aspirations.
