Apple Cancels Jason Clarke-Led Drama “The Last Frontier” After One Season

Apple has decided not to renew its drama series, “The Last Frontier,” starring Jason Clarke, for a second season. The show, which premiered on October 10 and concluded on December 5, followed U.S. Marshal Frank Remnick (Clarke) as he investigates a prison plane crash in the Alaskan wilderness that unleashes dangerous inmates and unveils a larger conspiracy.

The 10-episode series featured a strong supporting cast, including Dominic Cooper, Haley Bennett, Simone Kessell, Dallas Goldtooth, and Alfre Woodard, with recurring roles for John Slattery and Johnny Knoxville. “The Last Frontier” was created by Jon Bokenkamp (“The Blacklist”) and Richard D’Ovidio (“The Call”), who also served as executive producers alongside Clarke and others. Apple Studios produced the series. While some viewers expressed disappointment at the cancellation and praised the show’s plot, others criticized the writing and production quality.
