TN Police Hackathon 2025 Concludes, Society for Electronic Transactions and Security Wins Top Prize

CHENNAI, December 25, 2025 – The Tamil Nadu Cyber Crime Wing successfully concluded its T.N. Police Hackathon 2025 on December 24th, held at the Cyber Crime Wing Headquarters. The three-day event, which began on December 22nd, aimed to foster innovation and problem-solving skills among individuals working in the cybersecurity domain.

This year’s hackathon focused on the challenge “TOR – Unveil: Peel the Onion,” tasking participating teams with developing practical solutions related to anonymizing networks. The event drew significant interest, with 346 abstracts submitted from across India, representing individuals, colleges, and research institutions. After a preliminary review, 73 abstracts were shortlisted, with 52 teams ultimately participating in the final round.

At the closing ceremony, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Cyber Crime, Sandeep Mittal, highlighted the importance of technology, innovation, and collaboration in modern policing. ADGP Economic Offences Wing B. Bala Naga Devi presented the awards to the winners.

The Society for Electronic Transactions and Security emerged as the winner of the ‘TN Police Hackathon 2025’, receiving a memento, certificate, and a cash prize of ₹3 lakh.
