NEW DELHI, December 25, 2025 – In a move to regulate fee hikes in private schools, the Delhi government has ordered all schools in the national capital to form school-level fee regulation committees (SLFRCs) by January 10, 2026. The mandate falls under the newly implemented Delhi School Education (Transparency in Fixation and Regulation of Fees) Act, 2025, according to an official government press release.
Education Minister Ashish Sood announced the directive on Wednesday, stating that the new committees would bring “transparency, participation, and time-bound decision-making” to the school fee regulation process. The order comes after parents staged widespread protests earlier in the year against what they called “arbitrary fee hikes.”
