Mangaluru, December 25, 2025 – Shiva Prasad, a 41-year-old cook, has been sentenced to three years of simple imprisonment for stealing ₹90,000 from the Ishwarmangala bar and restaurant in Nettanige Mudnoor village where he was employed. The Puttur court delivered the verdict on December 24, 2025.

According to a complaint filed with the Puttur Rural police in April, restaurant manager Lokesh Rai reported that ₹90,000 in earnings, collected between April 21 and April 24, had been stolen from the cash counter. The break-in was discovered on April 25, when the rear door of the restaurant was found forced open.
