Karnataka Aims to Spread Digital Boom Beyond Bengaluru with New Industry Partnership
Bengaluru, December 25, 2025 – The Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM) and the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) have joined forces in a strategic partnership to propel the state’s digital economy, prioritizing growth in districts and clusters outside of Bengaluru.
An MoU signed on December 24th solidifies the collaboration, which will leverage FKCCI’s network of over 30 district chambers and KDEM’s cluster-focused initiatives. The aim is to boost MSME digitization, startup development, investment readiness, and entrepreneurship in non-metropolitan areas of Karnataka.
Key areas of focus include investment promotion, development of ecosystems beyond Bengaluru, cluster-specific initiatives, capacity building, joint research, public-private partnerships, and policy recommendations.
“Karnataka’s digital growth must be built as a statewide system, not limited to a few centres,” stated Sanjeev Kumar Gupta, CEO of KDEM, at a “Tech-Talk” event held at FKCCI. He emphasized the partnership’s role in aligning policy, ecosystem development, and industry participation.
Uma Reddy, President of FKCCI, highlighted the benefits for businesses. “This MoU translates into clearer pathways to participate in Karnataka’s digital economy. Through our district chambers and member network, we will work with KDEM to connect enterprises, startups, and MSMEs to investments, skills, and innovation opportunities.”
N. Manjula, Secretary of the Department of Electronics, IT & BT, echoed the sentiment, stating the initiative aims to create a foundation for inclusive innovation, employment generation, and sustained economic development beyond Bengaluru by strengthening district-level ecosystems and encouraging industry participation. This alliance signals a significant push to decentralize Karnataka’s digital success and foster technology-driven growth across the state.
