Toronto, Canada – December 24, 2025 – Toronto police are investigating the first-degree murder of Himanshi Khurana, a 30-year-old Indian woman whose body was found in a residence on Saturday. Khurana had been reported missing the day before from the Strachan Avenue and Wellington Street W. area, according to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC).
Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of 32-year-old Abdul Ghafoori, also a Toronto resident, in connection with the murder.
The Indian High Commission in Toronto has expressed “shock and deep sorrow” over the “tragic and disturbing” incident. In a statement released Tuesday, the High Commission extended its deepest condolences to Khurana’s family and stated they are closely following the investigation and will provide support to the family.
The case is ongoing, and authorities urge anyone with information to contact the Toronto Police Service.
