Wed Dec 24 18:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Undrafted Rookie Jahdae Walker Sparks Bears’ Thrilling Overtime Victory Over Packers

Chicago, IL – In a stunning turn of events, undrafted rookie receiver Jahdae Walker emerged as the hero in the Chicago Bears’ nail-biting 22-16 overtime victory over the Green Bay Packers Saturday night. With seconds ticking away and the Bears needing a touchdown to tie, quarterback Caleb Williams connected with Walker on a clutch 6-yard touchdown pass, sending the game into overtime.

Walker, who had not seen a single pass thrown his way in regular season play prior to this game, leaped high to secure the ball in the end zone, showcasing incredible awareness to get both feet inbounds.

“I know to the people that haven’t been in the building, it’s like ‘Oh my gosh, you’re going to the undrafted rookie on fourth down,” said coach Ben Johnson. “We see what he does every single week…we see a bright future for this guy.”

The Bears ultimately sealed the win in overtime with a 46-yard touchdown pass from Williams to DJ Moore, extending their lead in the NFC North to one-and-a-half games over Green Bay.

Walker’s journey to this pivotal moment has been a testament to hard work and dedication. After going undrafted, he earned a spot on the Bears’ 53-man roster with impressive preseason performances. His strong connection with quarterback Caleb Williams, forged through extra practice sessions and a shared living space early in the season, proved crucial in Saturday’s victory.

“I love Jahdae, man,” Williams said. “His character, his energy is infectious. Him having that moment is big for him in his career, big for him, for us, for everybody here.”

Walker’s touchdown marks a significant milestone in his career, just four years after he began playing college football at Division II Grand Valley State.

In other news, Bears kicker Cairo Santos has been named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance against the Packers.

After clinching a playoff berth, the Bears can win the NFC North and secure at least the No. 2 seed in the playoffs this weekend when they face the 49ers in San Francisco on Sunday, December 28.

Left guard Joe Thuney, center Drew Dalman, and safety Kevin Byard III have been selected to represent the Bears at the 2026 Pro Bowl Games.
