Bollywood Actress Disha Patani’s Home Targeted in Gang-Related Shooting: Police File Charges

Bareilly, India – A shooting incident at the Bareilly home of Bollywood actress Disha Patani has been revealed as a calculated act of organized crime, stemming from a social media dispute and intended to spread fear. Police in Kotwali have filed charges against four individuals, including two minors, in connection with the case.

The investigation revealed that the shooting was carried out by two minors associated with the Rohit Godara and Goldy Brar gangs. Ram Niwas, a resident of Jaitaran, Rajasthan, and Anil from Sonipat, Haryana, are also implicated in the conspiracy.

According to police reports, the incident was triggered by a video posted by Disha Patani’s sister, Khushboo Patani, criticizing a statement made by storyteller Aniruddhacharya regarding live-in relationships. The gang used this video as a pretext, portraying themselves as defenders of religious sentiments, to plan the attack. Following the shooting, the gang claimed responsibility on social media and issued threatening messages.

The investigation also uncovered that the suspects had been in Bareilly since September 6th, surveilling the area. On the night of September 11th, two minor suspects initially fired a shot from a motorcycle, but the sound went unnoticed. Subsequently, on the night of September 12th, key members of the gang, Ravindra and Arun, fired multiple rounds from a foreign-made pistol in an attempt to create panic and terror. Ram Niwas was allegedly used as a “dummy Arun” to mislead the police, while Anil provided the motorcycle and other resources.

Five days after the incident, Ravindra and Arun, the primary suspects, were killed in an encounter with the UP STF, Bareilly SOG, and Delhi Police Special Cell in Noida’s Tronica City. Although Ravindra and Arun are not named in the chargesheet due to their deaths, police have documented their crimes in detail. The investigation is ongoing.
