Andhra Pradesh Announces Ambitious Tech Roadmap, Aiming to be India’s Quantum Valley

Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh – December 24, 2025 – Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu yesterday unveiled a far-reaching technology and infrastructure vision for Andhra Pradesh, positioning the state as a future leader in quantum technology, data management, and aerospace innovation.

Speaking at the “Quantum Talk by CM CBN” program in Visakhapatnam on December 23, 2025, Naidu outlined a plan to transform Andhra Pradesh into a distributed, interconnected innovation network. He emphasized Visakhapatnam’s strategic importance as a global data center hub, citing its superior subsea cable connectivity and robust digital infrastructure. Google is already set to establish its largest data center in the city.

Amaravati, the state’s capital, will become India’s dedicated “Quantum Valley,” anchoring the nation’s knowledge economy. Tirupati is slated to be developed as a Space City, while Anantapur and Kadapa will evolve into major electronics and aerospace manufacturing centers.

Drawing parallels to his earlier IT initiatives, Naidu stated, “Just as Silicon Valley shaped the digital age, Amaravati’s Quantum Valley will anchor the knowledge economy of the future.”

In a significant move, the Chief Minister announced the launch of the world’s largest quantum skilling program, implemented in partnership with WISER and Qubitech. The program has already attracted over 50,000 registrations in just 10 days, with a notable 51% of participants being women.

Andhra Pradesh aims to produce its first quantum computers within two years and plans to establish a comprehensive Quantum and Green Hydrogen Valley with a 20-year strategic roadmap. Naidu highlighted the potential of quantum technologies to revolutionize sectors like healthcare, energy, agriculture, finance, and weather forecasting. He said Andhra Pradesh will emerge as a key driver of India’s technology-led economy by integrating quantum computing with artificial intelligence, satellites, and drone technologies.

The event was attended by prominent figures including Prof. Kamakoti (Director, IIT Madras), Prof. Satyanarayana (Director, IIT Tirupati), and Dr. Abhay Karandikar (Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India), underscoring the national importance of the state’s vision.
