Bihar Smashes World Record in List A Cricket, Powered by Teen Prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s Blistering 190

RANCHI – Bihar’s cricket team etched their name in the record books on Wednesday, achieving the highest team total in a single List A match against Arunachal Pradesh. The team amassed a staggering 574/6, surpassing Tamil Nadu’s previous record of 506/2 set in 2022.

The historic feat was largely fueled by a breathtaking innings from 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who blasted 190 runs off just 84 balls. Suryavanshi’s aggressive batting display saw him reach his century in a mere 36 balls, the second-fastest by an Indian player. His innings was studded with 15 sixes and included breaking AB de Villiers’ record for the fastest 150 in the format. He also became the youngest player to score a century in List A cricket.

Piyush Kumar Singh (77), Ayush Loharuka (116), and Sakibul Gani (128) also contributed significantly to the record-breaking total. Loharuka followed Suryavanshi’s momentum, smashing a rapid century of his own, while Gani reached his century in just 32 balls, the fastest for an Indian.

Arunachal Pradesh’s bowlers had no answers as Bihar’s batsmen dominated the field. With this victory, Bihar now holds the world record for the highest team total in List A history, followed by Tamil Nadu (506/2) and England (498/4).
