Stargate SG-1 Returns to Netflix in 2026; New Series in Development at Prime Video
[City, State] – [Date] – In a surprising turn of events, the science fiction series “Stargate SG-1” is set to return to Netflix on February 15, 2026, after a three-year hiatus. What’s on Netflix confirmed today that all 10 seasons of the beloved series will be available for streaming in the United States and select international territories.
The show’s return comes after it was removed from Netflix in December 2022 and subsequently moved to Prime Video following Amazon’s acquisition of MGM. While “Stargate: Atlantis” and “Stargate: Universe” will remain exclusive to Prime Video, the return of SG-1 signals a renewed presence for the franchise on Netflix.
Despite this, Prime Video is doubling down on its commitment to the Stargate universe. A brand new Stargate series is currently in development at Prime Video, with Martin Gero (known for “Quantum Leap” and “Blindspot”) serving as showrunner, writer, and executive producer. Gero has a long history with the Stargate franchise, having previously worked on “Stargate SG-1,” “Stargate: Atlantis,” and “Stargate: Universe.”
Joining Gero are original film creators Roland Emmerich and Dean Devlin, along with franchise veterans Brad Wright and Joe Mallozzi.

With “Stargate SG-1” making its comeback on Netflix in 2026, fans new and old will have the opportunity to revisit the original series while eagerly awaiting the premiere of the new Prime Video installment.
