Jack in the Box Celebrates 75th Anniversary with Throwback Menu Items and Innovation
SAN DIEGO, CA – December 22, 2025 – Jack in the Box, the iconic fast-food chain, is kicking off a year-long celebration to commemorate its 75th anniversary. Founded in San Diego in 1951, Jack in the Box is known for their innovative drive-thru model and craveable burgers and shakes. CEO Lance Tucker says, the company will relaunch fan favorites, offer special deals, and new collectibles, while also focusing on improving the company and franchise profitability.
A major highlight of the celebration is the return of the Chicken Supreme, a sandwich featuring a crispy fried chicken filet, Monterey Jack & Swiss cheeses, lettuce, and tomato on a toasted whole wheat bun. The sandwich was first introduced in 1980 but removed from the menu in 2004. It will be available as a single or double sandwich, and as part of a Munchie Meal including two tacos, medium curly fries, and a limited-edition “Jibbis” bag charm.
“This anniversary is all about celebrating the fans who’ve made Jack in the Box what it is today,” said chief customer and digital officer Ryan Ostrom. “For 75 years, we’ve delivered craveable experiences that are anything but ordinary and our fans have loved us for it. They’re the heart of everything we do, and this year we’re giving it back to them bigger than ever, with the return of cult-favorite items, exclusive Jack Pack rewards, and plenty of unexpected moments that are unapologetically Jack.”
To continue the celebrations, Jack in the Box will offer two tacos for 75 cents exclusively through its app on January 6th, along with “75 Days of Trivia,” an in-app game where correct answers unlock same-day offers. Customers can also collect Jibbis from the Chicken Supreme Munchie Meal.
CEO Lance Tucker also mentioned that the company plans to close as many as 200 restaurants, sharpen its value proposition, prioritize remodels, and focus on franchisee profitability.
While the brand experienced a decline in same-store sales and a drop in systemwide sales in the most recent quarter, Tucker is optimistic that the anniversary campaign and a renewed focus on quality and innovation will provide a boost.
“As we celebrate Jack’s 75th anniversary and bring back some of our customer fan favorites for a limited time, we will be ramping up our innovation, and quality improvements that position us to exit 2026 in a much stronger place than we entered,” Tucker told analysts.
The company promises more menu launches, merchandise, and surprises throughout the year.
