CHENNAI, December 24, 2025 – Chennai Police have arrested five individuals, including four known history-sheeters, in connection with the assault and robbery of a 22-year-old driver in Neelankarai.
According to authorities, Ajaykumar, a driver, was walking near the Palavakkam Periyar Salai signal on Sunday when he was approached by the suspects. The individuals allegedly demanded money from Ajaykumar. When he stated he had no money, three of the suspects brandished knives and forcibly took his mobile phone. The suspects also reportedly threatened Ajaykumar with death before fleeing the scene.
Following Ajaykumar’s complaint, police apprehended the accused identified as Aravind, 25, Pradeep Kumar, 24, and three others. The investigation is ongoing.
