Wed Dec 24 02:20:00 UTC 2025: ## Chip and Joanna Gaines Nab Colorado Mountain Retreat for $5.5 Million

DENVER, CO – Chip and Joanna Gaines, the power couple behind the Magnolia empire, have expanded their reach beyond Waco, Texas, with the purchase of a sprawling mountain property in Colorado. According to a report in The Denver Post, the Gaineses acquired the 1960s home featured on their latest Magnolia Network limited series, “Fixer Upper: Colorado Mountain House,” for a cool $5.5 million earlier this year.

The property, which was initially listed for as high as $7.5 million, offered the Gaineses a deal they couldn’t refuse. “It’s been on the market for a while, so it just feels like the timing is really right for me to potentially make a really good deal on this property,” Chip Gaines stated in the show’s premiere.

The “Fixer Upper” stars are documenting the extensive renovation of the home, transforming it into a family retreat that blends modern amenities with mid-century charm. Joanna Gaines is leading the charge, gutting the interior and reconfiguring the layout to create ample space for their family of seven and visiting relatives. The property, boasting a main house and two cabins nestled on acres of land with river access, provides ample room for the Gaineses’ vision.

The couple’s decision to invest in Colorado stems from years of family ski trips and vacations in the Rocky Mountains. “From the moment we pulled into the long driveway, it immediately felt like we’d found far more than what we’d been looking for,” Joanna shared on Instagram.

While the Colorado project marks their first major renovation outside of Texas, the Gaineses remain committed to their farmhouse near Waco, which they consider their “forever home.”

Viewers can follow the Gaineses’ renovation journey on “Fixer Upper: Colorado Mountain House,” airing Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Magnolia Network and HGTV, and streaming the same day on HBO Max and discovery+. The finale airs December 23rd.
