Wed Dec 24 05:50:00 UTC 2025: ## MC Mong Denies Affair Allegations, Accuses Entertainment CEO of Coercion and Fabricated Evidence
Seoul, South Korea – Singer and producer MC Mong (Shin Dong-hyun) is vehemently denying allegations of an affair with Cha Gawon, the married chairwoman of entertainment agency Cha Gawon PiArc Group (formerly One Hundred). He has announced plans to take legal action against both Cha Jun-young, a relative of Cha Gawon, and news outlet The Fact, which first reported the claims.
The Fact alleged on October 24th that MC Mong and Cha Gawon, who co-founded One Hundred in 2023, had a secret romantic relationship until May of this year, when Cha Gawon reportedly ended the relationship. The report included claims that Cha Gawon demanded MC Mong get her pregnant and shared purported text message exchanges between the two. It also alleged that Cha Gawon transferred over ₩12 billion (approximately $8.8 million USD) to MC Mong’s accounts since 2022, along with expensive gifts. Citing a source close to MC Mong, The Fact reported he received multiple luxury vehicles, including a ₩5 billion (approximately $3.7 million USD) R-brand watch, and had nearly ₩10 billion (approximately $7.4 million USD) in debt paid off by Cha Gawon.
MC Mong responded to the report on his social media, accusing Cha Jun-young of attempting to seize control of One Hundred. He claimed Cha Jun-young fabricated documents, including a shareholders list and stock transfer agreement bearing his forged signature, in an attempt to wrest away MC Mong’s shares in the company. He further accused Cha Jun-young of intimidation, alleging he visited MC Mong’s home, destroyed property, assaulted him, and coerced him into signing the aforementioned agreements. MC Mong stated he initially left One Hundred to protect the company in his position as Chairman of the Board.
“I swear, there was never an inappropriate relationship,” MC Mong stated, emphasizing that his relationship with Cha Gawon is that of a “creditor and debtor,” referring to the previously reported ₩12 billion loan lawsuit initiated by Cha Gawon earlier this year. He further added that the text messages published by The Fact were either fabricated or reinterpreted from texts he created to defend himself and deceive Cha Jun-young. He insists he is willing to repay the debt.
The controversy is amplified by the fact that Cha Gawon is married with children and previously appeared on the SBS television show “Young Talent Discovery” with her family in 2019.
MC Mong had stepped down from his role as co-CEO of One Hundred in July, citing severe depression and health issues that made it difficult to continue musical activities. He reportedly entrusted the company’s operations and BPM production duties to Cha Gawon before deciding to study abroad.
Cha Gawon initially filed a lawsuit against MC Mong for the repayment of the ₩12 billion loan in June, which was later withdrawn. However, she reapplied for a payment order in November, which was granted by the court. MC Mong reportedly did not file an objection to the order at the time.
The unfolding situation is generating significant buzz online, with both MC Mong and Cha Gawon facing intense scrutiny.
