Visakhapatnam, India – The India Women’s cricket team secured a commanding 7-wicket victory over Sri Lanka in the second T20 International, taking a 2-0 lead in the five-match series. The match, held at the Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy Stadium on Tuesday, saw India dominate both with the ball and the bat.
After winning the toss and electing to field, India restricted Sri Lanka to a modest total of 128/9. Sri Lanka struggled to build partnerships, losing wickets at regular intervals. Captain Chamari Athapaththu top-scored with 31, while Harshitha Samarawickrama contributed 33. However, a flurry of wickets towards the end of the innings hampered their progress. With this win, India has taken a firm grip on the series. The third T20I is scheduled to be held on December 26th in Thiruvananthapuram.
