Cuddalore Launches Village Startup Communities Under ‘Gramam Thorum Puthozhil’ Scheme

CUDDALORE, TAMIL NADU – December 23, 2025 – The Cuddalore district administration today launched village startup communities in Nathapattu, Bhuvanagiri, Poongunam, and Pinjanur as part of Tamil Nadu’s ‘Gramam Thorum Puthozhil Scheme’. Collector Sibi Adhithya Senthil Kumar inaugurated the initiatives, emphasizing their goal of fostering sustainable economic development in rural areas.

The program aims to strengthen the rural innovation ecosystem by empowering youth, women, and persons with disabilities. It will provide support for ideation, prototyping, and mentorship to early-stage entrepreneurs. ‘Gramam Thorum Puthozhil’ seeks to connect startups in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities with established corporations, broadening market access and mentorship opportunities.

The initiative plans to nurture 100 startups across 100 villages throughout Tamil Nadu, bridging the urban-rural divide in innovation and entrepreneurship. In Cuddalore, beneficiaries from the four selected villages will receive support based on their skills and business development potential. One eligible venture from each village will be awarded a ₹1 lakh equity-free TANSEED grant to accelerate prototype development and gain early market access.
