Ganja Seized and Vehicles Auctioned in South Tamil Nadu

DINDIGUL, India – December 23, 2025 – Railway Police in Dindigul, Tamil Nadu, seized 5.7 kilograms of ganja from the Coimbatore-Nagercoil Express on Tuesday. Acting on a tip-off, officers discovered the narcotics hidden in cloth bags in an unreserved coach when the train arrived at Dindigul station around noon. Police are reviewing CCTV footage from major stations to identify suspects involved in the smuggling operation.

In separate news, vehicles seized in connection with crimes, including violations of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, were auctioned off in Theni and Dindigul police districts on Tuesday. A total of 28 vehicles were auctioned in Dindigul for Rs 6.33 lakh, while five two-wheelers fetched Rs 87,000 in Theni. The auctions were conducted under the supervision of senior police officials.
