Drug Smuggler Ritik Bajaj Extradited from UAE to India

NEW DELHI – December 23, 2025: Ritik Bajaj, wanted by Delhi Police on charges of smuggling narcotics, was successfully extradited from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to India on Tuesday, December 23, 2025. The operation was a collaborative effort between the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), and the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The CBI issued an Interpol Red Notice for Bajaj on October 9, 2025, at the request of Delhi Police. Following initial coordination with Interpol National Central Bureau (NCB) Bangkok, the CBI tracked Bajaj’s movement to the UAE. Contact was then made with NCB Abu Dhabi to locate the accused.

“A team of the Delhi Police visited the UAE to bring back the subject, and arrived in India with him on Tuesday,” a CBI spokesperson stated.

The CBI emphasized the success of its Interpol channels in bringing fugitives to justice, noting that over 150 wanted criminals have been returned to India in recent years through such coordination.
