Chennai Police Crack Down on Forged Medical Credentials, Two Arrested
CHENNAI, INDIA – December 19, 2025 – The Central Crime Branch (CCB) of the Greater Chennai Police has arrested two men for allegedly submitting forged documents to the Tamil Nadu Medical Council (TNMC) in an attempt to falsely register as medical practitioners.
Ajith Samson of Cuddalore and Karuppaiah Ganapathy of Paramakudi, Ramanathapuram district, are accused of claiming to have completed their medical education in the United States and presenting fabricated credentials as proof.
The investigation was launched following a complaint filed by the Registrar of the Tamil Nadu Medical Council on November 24th with the Chennai Police Commissioner’s Office. Authorities subsequently booked the two men for misrepresentation and the misuse of forged educational documents.
The case highlights concerns regarding the verification of medical credentials and the potential risks posed by individuals falsely claiming medical qualifications. Further details of the investigation are expected to be released in the coming days.
